There are two contiguous hairline cracks at the treble waist on the face, (we will have put glue in them), and some crazing lines heading downward from the bass waist. Its impressive 7 ¼” long headstock bears the postwar script Gibson inlaid logo, a Gibson crown or flower thereunder and a wide-white bordered black bell-shaped truss rod cover etched in white with the word “Custom” vertically. It has the height adjustable bridge and the Fuller Bar under the top, and a black exterior, orange interior, unsigned hard shell case that we are absolutely convinced is original to the guitar. It has a 1 11/16th” nut width and a 2” bridge spacing. It has 4-ply back purfling, six-ply top purfling, a double ring soundhole rosette, a solid rosewood, large closed moustache bridge with four pearl inlays (two apostrophes and two miso soup spoons) and the crème bound rosewood fingerboard is inlaid with large crowns starting from fret 1 and in 8 fret positions total. It has many of the same features as the late ‘60s J-200 including five-piece neck, large striped-back Grover tuners with gold-plated tulip buttons, ivoroid side binding and two-ply bound heel cap.
